After all that talk about friendly supportiveness. We are going to get vicious and mean.
The first big piece of work we are going to do is called 'The persuasive image.'
Think about this - the success that we have either as fine-artists or as graphic designers is measured by if people actually LOOK at your work.
Am I right?
So the first task is simple - make an image that is looked at more than anyone else's image.
EVERYONE will be doing this. ALL AS Art and Graphics students. Also, I will ask if any upper 6th students want to take part, I will also ask other students (who are not taking art. This is going to be a tough and dirty fight!
Week one - the graphic artists put up an exhibition - one single image from each student. One by one, the least looked at image will be taken down. The last image will be declared winner for that group.
Week two - Fine artists get their chance. Same deal, one by one the images are taken down, until only one remains.
Week three - All comers - in the final week anyone else can attempt to steal the crown that you know is rightfully yours! Upper 6th Graphic Artists Upper sixth Fine Artists. Past students, even people who do not take art (and they had better not win!)
At the end we will have a final exhibition with the winners from each category. The final votes will be cast and the overall winner will be crowned.
Who will it be?
Start thinking - there must be ONE image that will be looked at more than any other? What is it?
One final note - it does have to be an image that you can put on the wall at a school!
Will the Fine- Artists win over the Graphic Artists - or (heaven forbid!)will a non artist hold the key? Will we be shamed?
Gentlemen, start your engines!
